The Cheerlebrity Cheerleading Camp Day & Overnight Cheerleading Camp Director is responsible for overseeing the successful operation of a day & overnight cheerleading camp, as well as ensuring a safe, positive, energetic, and memorable experience for all campers and staff. The Director will lead camp programming, supervise staff, coordinate daily operations, and create an environment that promotes athletic development, teamwork, confidence, leadership, and fun.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee the overall day & overnight camp schedule, including cheer instruction, team-building activities, recreation, meals, evening programming, and downtime.
Lead and supervise a team of cheerleading coaches, counselors, and support staff.
Ensure all staff members understand and follow camp policies, safety procedures, and expectations.
Provide leadership and direction during daily cheerleading classes and performances.
Create an inclusive and encouraging environment where campers of varying ages and skill levels can learn and grow.
Monitor camper well-being and address behavioral, social, or other concerns appropriately.
Maintain a safe environment throughout all activities, including classes, overnight housing, meals, recreation, and evening events.
Serve as the primary point of contact for camp staff, parents/guardians, facility personnel, and organizational leadership.
Coordinate with the camp facility regarding housing, meals, athletic spaces, equipment, schedules, and emergency procedures.
Upload all necessary camper & staff forms to the town of Milton Permiteyes website, to secure the Cheerlebrity Cheerleading Camp summer license in a timely manner.
Respond appropriately to injuries, illnesses, emergencies, and other unexpected situations in accordance with established protocols.
Organize and oversee evening and overnight activities while maintaining appropriate supervision and camper-to-staff ratios.
Manage camp equipment, supplies, uniforms, music, and other necessary materials.
Help recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate camp staff.
Help promote camp via social media, and in-person events (ie- research & attend local All Star and Town Rec competitions).
Help recruit campers and increase camp registrations
Address staff performance or camper behavioral concerns professionally and promptly.
Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and other required camp records.
Conduct staff meetings and daily check-ins to ensure smooth communication and operations.
Evaluate the camp experience and provide recommendations for future programming.
Qualifications:
21+ yrs of age
U.S. resident
Previous experience coaching cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, athletics, or youth programming.
Previous leadership, supervisory, or camp-director experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of All-Star cheer levels (skills novice-Worlds), safety, spotting, conditioning, and appropriate instruction.
Experience working with children and/or teenagers in a structured setting.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful or emergency situations.
Ability to work extended hours and remain on-site for the duration of an overnight camp.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or required prior to camp.
Ability to pass any required background checks and comply with organizational safeguarding policies.

They should be energetic enough to create an exciting camp atmosphere, while being mature and dependable enough to manage the responsibilities of a day & overnight camp program. A successful Camp Director will be a positive role model who can balance fun, athletic development, discipline, safety, and camper well-being.
Schedule & Commitment:
This is an on-site, seasonal position requiring the Director to remain at the camp facility for the duration of the overnight camp session, tentatively scheduled for July 4-July 29, 2027.
The position also requires off-season, remote planning, staff recruitment, camp advertisement, and camper recruitment.
Compensation:
Compensation will be based on experience, successful staff and camper recruitment, camp preparations, and the length and scope of the duration of the camp. Housing accommodations and all meals will be provided and factored.
Success in This Role:
Success will be measured by the safety and well-being of campers, quality of the cheerleading experience, effectiveness of staff leadership, smooth daily operations, positive camper and parent feedback, and the overall success of the camp program.
